The School of Human Sciences recently re-located to the fantastic and newly refurbished Dreadnought building on the World Heritage site at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich. This move, along with the creation of new laboratory facilities, is part of significant investment in the School and part of a long-term plan to build internationally leading scholarly activity and teaching in the Faculty. As part of this investment, we are looking to appoint a dynamic and engaged colleague to help grow and develop the School.
The University of Greenwich is committed to the continued development of teaching in Social Work through developing our existing undergraduate and postgraduate provision. Social Work is well established in the University and highly respected locally for its strong partnerships with local services stakeholders and nationally for its teaching excellence. We are looking for a colleague who will have a commitment to maintaining and building the University’s excellence in teaching and learning. The University is currently rated TEF silver, reflecting our excellent teaching and learning, and we have realistic aspirations to achieve a TEF rating of ‘gold’ in any forthcoming subject TEF.
You will be joining a School and Faculty that is building a strong interdisciplinary and cross-professional approach to solving the grand challenges facing society. We welcome applications from individuals with practice experience in one or more of the areas of mental health, disability, adult services or children and families. We also welcome candidates whose scholarly work will resonate with one or more new interdisciplinary Faculty Research Centres within the newly formed Institute for Lifecourse Development:
- Centre for Chronic Disease and Ageing
- Centre for Inequalities
- Centre for Mental Health
- Centre for Professional Workforce Development
- Centre for Thinking and Learning
- Centre for Vulnerable Children and Families
We aim to be an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
