Job Purpose
The role of Head of Programme is to oversee the design and delivery of one or more academic awards in the school, giving each student the opportunity to achieve the expected outcomes.
The role holder will lead the module leader team ensuring best-in-class delivery resulting in an outstanding academic experience and excellent student feedback and will work
collaboratively with the operational and quality assurance teams.
As commensurate with an academic leadership role, the Head of Programme will support the academic success of the award by engaging with the sector and wider academic,
professional and regulatory bodies.
Key performance indicators for this role:
The performance of this role will be measured on several metrics and these include (but are
not limited to):
- Overall module and programme pass rates
- Progression rates of students
- Completion rates of students
- Student satisfaction
- Student recruitment
- Programme reviews
Job Background
BPP’s Business School has several unique accounting programmes and our Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Finance (“ADAF”) and MSc Accounting and Finance are among them. The programmes are designed to appeal to domestic and international students, closely connected to the accounting profession and we will innovate these further.
ADAF and the MSc Accounting and Finance will undergo re-validation in the tenure of this role holder so this will be an opportunity to shape the education and early careers of hundreds of students, from a number of countries, over the next few years. This person will work very closely with our faculty and support staff to deliver and excellent experience for our students. This role would suit an experienced education professional who wants to work in a unique business school, managing the design, tuition and assessment of highly innovative programmes. The candidate should be looking for a move into a leadership role and needs to have both practical and academic knowledge.
This role is an important role within the Business School, reporting to the Director of Accounting Programmes and working closely with the Dean. It offers an exciting opportunity to create and lead innovative accountancy and finance programmes in a unique and contribute to a growing school, university and BPP group.

Candidate Criteria
ESSENTIAL
- A level 7 academic or professional qualification
- Experience of working with international students, so you can easily understand their needs
- General management experience, specifically experience of managing and achieving results through others
- Experience of team leadership
- Ability to handle and manage operational complexity
- Ability to make reasoned evidence-based decisions
- Ability to manage through the measurement of key performance indicators
- Effective and engaging communication skills with the ability to persuade and influence others
- Ability to handle complex stakeholder viewpoints

- Ability to set and meet deadlines and to manage performance of others
