With a clear focus on creating and maintaining WSU’s culture of research excellence, collegiality, and impact, the Graduate Research School provides support and guidance to postgraduate research candidates and researchers as they advance their academic studies and research careers.

Leading the GRS, the Dean Graduate Studies and Researcher Development will play a critical role in ensuring the University’s ongoing success as a world-class, innovative, student-centred and research-led institution.

The next Dean will ensure that initiatives, including policy innovation, within the GRS are informed by the latest research and best practice approaches. Team leadership will be an important aspect of the role; supporting doctoral candidates, early, and mid-career researchers, in particular, as they continue to develop their careers with impactful and industry engaged research.

As part of a large and interconnected organisation, the Dean, Graduate Studies and Researcher Development will collaborate widely, and make a meaningful contribution to the University’s culture of research excellence.
