INSTITUTE OF TEXTILES AND CLOTHING

Senior Teaching Fellow in Digital Fashion (Ref. 21021906)  

Duties  

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    engage in teaching and learning activities, and conduct lectures, tutorials, seminars and practical sessions on the related subject areas;

(b)    prepare and develop teaching materials, design teaching and assessment strategies, deliver teaching in academic settings appropriate for the objective of learning, interact with and motivate students, and assess the performance of and give feedback to students;

(c)    ensure the quality of subject curriculum and overall teaching and learning approach as well as the effective operation of the subject;

(d)    provide leadership, coordination and supervision in activities pertaining to the operation of an academic programme and/or a relevant professional service;

(e)    assist in the development and management of relevant teaching facilities; 

(f)    participate in scholarly research and consultancy projects; and 

(g)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Institute or his delegates.

Qualifications 

Applicants should have:

(a)    a master’s degree, preferably with a PhD, in a relevant discipline;

(b)    not less than six years of post-qualification tertiary teaching experience and/or industrial experience in digital fashion, preferably at international level;

(c)    demonstrated a high level of proficiency in teaching, and have shown potential for making substantial contributions in curriculum and pedagogy development as well as subject and programme management; 
 

(d)    sound knowledge of university teaching in the areas of digital creation and/or social commerce, covering subjects such as digital marketing and data analytics, multimedia presentation and communication, 2D and 3D CAD, photography and visual effects, sound and video editing, UX/UI design, multiplatform applications, and/or character design and animation; and

(e)    good communication skills and the ability to use English as the medium of instruction.
 
Preference will be given to those who have (1) an established track record of research outputs in top-tier refereed journals as well as research grant applications, with postgraduate supervisions being an advantage; and (2) experience in promoting teaching quality.

Applicants with less experience will be considered for appointment at Teaching Fellow level. The job duty requirements and expectation will be in line with the appointed grade.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.  Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
