Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Cell Biology & Genetics, UCD
Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Cell Biology & Genetics within the UCD School of Biology & Environmental Science. This is a specified purpose, maternity cover position as Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Cell Biology & Genetics based in UCD.
The School offers a diverse portfolio of programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels - including BSc degrees in Environmental Biology, Plant Biology, Zoology and Cell & Molecular Biology, and MSc degrees in Applied Environmental Science and Biological & Biomolecular Science (by negotiated learning).
The appointee will provide maternity leave cover and join a team within the School delivering lectures in the broad area of cell biology & genetics. The purpose of this post is to provide undergraduate teaching (and associated administrative tasks) covering general aspects of cell biology and genetics, within both animal and plant kingdoms. The successful candidate would also be expected to contribute to the supervision of final year and MSc project students and participate in the scholarly activities of the School where appropriate. Opportunities to undertake or participate in research projects will be encouraged.
Candidates should have a PhD in an appropriate discipline. This position may suit an experienced postdoctoral worker.
95 Lecturer / Assistant Professor (Below the bar) Salary Scale: €34,746 - €60,984 per annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
