Salary (Grade H5): Senior Lecturer (£54,131 - £59,135 per annum plus £2,166 per annum London Weighting)
Reader Salary (Grade ACRE): Minimum £62,727 per annum 

Professor Salary (Grade ACP): Minimum £62,727 per annum 

Brunel University London inaugurated its Department of Chemical Engineering with innovative curricula geared for 21st century challenges and the first student intake started in 2019. Our vision is to become a fast-growing and internationally-recognised multidisciplinary innovative hub for high quality education and research by focusing on innovation, impact, applications and internationalisation. We are inviting a high-calibre and enthusiast candidate with the background in process systems engineering, including but not limited to process control, digital processing, process intensification, big data, IIOT and cyber security to join us to achieve excellence. The ideal candidate will be committed to both contribute to and enhance our teaching, research and leadership activities across diverse directions (bioprocess and biopharmaceutical engineering, digital process engineering, emerging energy technology and materials for a sustainable future) with emphasis on the digital revolution, cut-edging technologies, industrial leadership and social challenges. The successful candidate will:

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Chemical Engineering. 
  • Undertake high quality research to support the department/college/university’s strategies, through production of outstanding research outputs, securing research funding from external sources and undertaking impact creating activities. 
  • Lead and contribute to departmental research strategy development and implementation.
  • Supervise postgraduate students and mentor early career researchers.
  • Develop long-term multidisciplinary collaborations with partners both within and external to the University.
  • Devote to the university’s teaching and research in Chemical Engineering as an area of excellence.
  • Be active in the engagement of internationalisation and industrialisation.

The candidate should have a PhD degree in a relevant engineering discipline together with a strong teaching and research track record. A candidate with extensive teaching/research leadership or industrial experience is advantageous.
