The Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS), the Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS) and the Qianhai Authority within Qianhai Free Trade Zone have agreed a collaboration to develop educational opportunities between the two Schools and create a joint initiative for Business and Management in the municipality of Shenzhen.

This is a key strategic initiative linking the University with a major hub in China. The CJBS China Programme Manager will manage the start/set-up, planning and delivery of this overarching objective, including day-to-day financial, commercial, operational and logistical elements in Cambridge, whilst ensuring that the operations in China are aligned with all statutory and University requirements. This will require regular travel and liaison with the activities in Shenzhen as well as other key external and internal stakeholders within the business schools and within the University. 

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with an operations background to work closely with colleagues in the School and our collaborators to lead in the planning, formation and coordination of key activities to support this initiative. The role holder will also be responsible for project managing the finalisation of the building design in Shenzhen and ultimately, occupation of the building. 

The role holder must have experience working with international stakeholders and managing negotiations with a diverse range of contacts. The successful candidate must also have substantial experience in working on complex large-scale programmes, across multiple teams with multiple stakeholders and the ability to manage multiple deadlines concurrently.

Educated to degree level, the ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and will be able to communicate, influence, build strong relationships and negotiate effectively across cultures. We are looking for an individual who is results-driven, highly organised, have advanced critical thinking skills with a high degree of initiative and ability to plan. The successful candidate must have proven experience of successfully delivering strategic initiatives. 

The ability to converse fluently in Mandarin is not a pre-requisite but the successful candidate would ideally be willing to learn basic words and phrases to allow them to hold conversations with their colleagues.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
