  • Temporary Part-time (0.2 fraction, 7.5 hours per week)
  • $69,364 to $93,694 per annum, part-time pro-rata (Level A)
  • $98,564 to $116,814 per annum, part-time pro rata (Level B)
  • Plus 17% employer superannuation.Salary packaging options are available

The School of Science and Technology comprises subject disciplines including Biomedical Science, Chemistry and Physics, Exercise and Sport Science, Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science. The School conducts teaching and research through an exciting range of undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate courses and research degrees by dissertation within these disciplines. These courses are offered via on campus and flexible online education modes. Additionally, the research performance of a number of our disciplines was assessed at ‘well above world standard’ in the 2018 ERA ratings for research excellence.

The Faculty of Science, Agriculture, Business & Law at UNE is currently inviting applications for an experienced Exercise and Sports Scientist to join our team as an Associate Lecturer or Lecturer in Exercise and Sports Science (x2 positions) in the School of Science and Technology.

About the Role

This role provides a unique opportunity for the successful applicant to apply their industry-based knowledge and experience within high performance environments to inform the design and delivery of curricula our Exercise and Sports Science degree programs. The incumbent will be expected to maintain their professional accreditation, and their concurrent employment within a high performance environment to facilitate student practicum experiences within the area of Exercise and Sports Science.

Skills & Experience

You will have experience in facilitating high quality scholarly and innovative approaches to teaching and learning informed by industry experience within the area of Exercise Science.  Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with students, practicum supervisors and industry partners and stakeholders are essential. In addition you will be required to work productively both independently on projects and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.

As an Associate Lecturer (Level A)you will have a Masters in Exercise and Sports Science or closely related area with a focus on Human Movement, Strength and Conditioning and/or Sports Performance and accreditation as an Exercise Scientist with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) or eligibility to gain accreditation as and Exercise Scientist.

As a Lecturer (Level B) you will hold a research higher degree at doctoral level (or near completion) in Exercise and Sports Science or closely related area with a focus on Human Movement, Strength and Conditioning and/or Sports Performance and accreditation as an Exercise Scientist with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) or eligibility to gain accreditation as and Exercise Scientist.
