Job Purpose
The role is an integral part of the BPP IT Infrastructure Team supporting day-to-day business-as-usual operations and current and future infrastructure project initiatives, domestically and internationally.
The Network Engineer will implement, uphold and maintain Network standards, safeguarding the enterprise infrastructure and resources supporting business requirements at campus locations and the data centre.
Job Background
The role is a third line role and as such is the highest point of internal escalation responsible for acting on all technical requests, projects, and strategic initiatives, for all technologies. Additional responsibilities include routine contact with appropriate IT and non-IT personnel from the BPP group of companies.

- Switching and routing (Cisco)
- OSI, VLAN, OSPF, BGP
- TCP/IP, DNS
- Wi-Fi (Cisco)
Desirable Knowledge/Skills
- Meraki (Cisco)
- Load balancing, reverse proxy (F5)
- Firewalls (Checkpoint)
- Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu)
- AWS, Azure
- ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management
- Network Security
Qualifications:
- Cisco CCNA – routing & switching, security, wireless – Advantageous
- Cisco CCNP – Useful
- ITIL Foundation - Useful
