OUTREACH PROGRAM ASSISTANT, VENTURE MENTORING SERVICE (MITVMS), Office of the Provost, to perform complex, diverse administrative duties for the VMS Outreach Training Program. MITVMS provides free, confidential, and unconflicted business advice to entrepreneurs from the MIT community through teams of experienced volunteer mentors. The Outreach Training Program helps organizations around the world establish their own venture mentoring programs based on the VMS model.  Will provide administrative support for the program’s three main efforts--sales process, training program planning and execution, and post-training client relationships; support communications/interactions with the volunteer team; and support the co-director and manager with multiple initiatives/projects.  Responsibilities include a variety of administrative duties, e.g., program logistics, financial, scheduling, etc.; supporting the sales process, e.g., database maintenance, document preparation, invoice/payment tracking, etc.; coordinating planning for training program delivery, including preparing materials and agendas, logistics, communication, etc.; assisting with post-training client relationships, including evaluation/program status surveys, database management, maintaining communication lists, general administrative support, etc.; supporting meeting planning; and contributing to multiple projects/initiative as needed.  

Job Requirements

REQUIRED high school diploma or its equivalent; three years’ administrative support/office/related experience; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; accuracy and keen attention to detail; discretion with confidential information; proficiency with Microsoft Office; and ability to learn new software quickly as learning Ellucian Advance, CRM software, Concur, etc., will be required.  Must be able to analyze, synthesize, and present information; problem solve; prioritize, handle multiple tasks concurrently, and meet deadlines under time constraints; work independently and as part of a team; and interact effectively with a diverse group of people. 

PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree and experience with QuickBase, SurveyMonkey, Mailchimp, Basecamp, and LinkedIn/social media. Job #19285-5  

This position will start remotely per MIT’s COVID-19 guidelines, but a return to on-campus operations is expected when conditions permit. Candidates must be able to perform the work in either setting.
