The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences is passionate about the principles and application of science and technology in all its forms and strives to be excellent in research, teaching and innovation. The Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation has particular strengths in health and wellbeing, the role of exercise and physical activity in the management of chronic health conditions, exercise recovery and neuromuscular adaptations, and the optimisation of human performance.

Working within the Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation, you will provide expertise in the area of Physiotherapy.  Within the Physiotherapy discipline, we are ranked 5th in the UK for overall student satisfaction (NSS 2020) and 6th in the Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide League Tables 2021.  The Department will consider high quality applications with related teaching and research in any area of physiotherapy or other appropriate health expertise in rehabilitation. This role will include designing and delivering high quality teaching activities, undertaking individual and joint research to produce high quality, internationally recognised, academic outputs and participating in external activity to generate income and promote the subject.

Applicants should hold a first degree and be qualified (or exceptionally soon to be qualified) to doctoral level in a relevant subject, have expertise in the relevant subject area with specialist knowledge gained through research excellence. A proven ability to deliver high quality research informed teaching within an appropriate field and a strong research profile are essential for this role.

Currently, due to COVID-19, academic staff will normally be on campus for approximately two days per week when face to face teaching is scheduled, and as required to undertake research using specialist facilities.
