Duties
The appointees will assist the project leader in the research project - “Development of canaries for catastrophic failure prevention”. The project will develop a canary device to be integrated into electronic assemblies to monitor the degradation of electronic components or products and predict their failure in advance. It is expected that the project will focus on reliability of electrochemical energy storage devices (e.g. lithium-ion batteries).
Qualifications
Applicants for the post of Postdoctoral Fellow should have a doctoral degree in Physical Sciences, Engineering, or an equivalent qualification in a related field and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application. They should also have a strong analytical skill with interests in big data and artificial intelligence.
Applicants for the post of Research Associate / Research Assistant should have a good honours degree or above in Physical Sciences, Engineering, or a related field. Proficiency in a programming language (e.g. C, Python, etc.) will be an advantage.
For both posts, applicants should also have:
- knowledge of product reliability methods and principles;
- good interpersonal and communication skills; and
- a good command of written and spoken English.
Preference will be given to those with research experience in lithium-ion battery development.
