Duties

The appointees will assist the project leaders in the research projects - “Hybrid strategies for AI-based safety assurance” and/or “Functional safety verification of systems that implement AI”. The projects will develop safety criteria for functional behavior of AI to implement certifiable to standards.

They will be required to:

  1. work with industry counterparts in consolidating academic research into tangible deliverables;
  • steer the project, and ensure good and appropriate applicability to commercial/industrial partners;
  • coordinate the delivery, installation and testing of the equipment; and ensure the equipment being properly installed, tested and commissioned at the Centre; 
  • manage research and development activities including technical and financial aspects, and other project administrative tasks such as preparing project updates and reports;
  • work closely with research colleagues of the teams; and
  • coordinate with local and overseas universities, research institutions and business partners, and handle enquiries in a professional manner; and
  • perform any other duties as assigned by the Centre Director or his delegates.

 

Qualifications

Applicants for the post of Postdoctoral Fellow should have a doctoral degree or an equivalent qualification in a S-T-E-M related discipline and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application. 

 

Applicants for the post of Research Associate / Research Assistant should have an honours degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science or a relevant discipline.

 

For both posts, applicants should also:

 

(a) have knowledge of corporate product development;

(b) be well-organized, capable to work under pressure and able to handle multi-tasking assignments in a multidisciplinary team;

(c) have excellent interpersonal skills; and

(d) have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua being an advantage.
