Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Radiology is searching for a full-time junior faculty member. Appointees as assistant professor will have responsibilities in the Nuclear Medicine Section and be fully competent in the whole spectrum of nuclear studies, including general nuclear medicine, nuclear cardiology, radionuclide therapy, and hybrid molecular imaging (e.g. PET/CT and SPECT/CT).  Appointment as Instructor is possible for those who can achieve these competencies within one year.  Participation in a variety of multidisciplinary conferences is expected. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity.  Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent upon qualifications.

Faculty members have dedicated academic time with many opportunities available to develop research interests in collaboration with our strong basic science group as well as other clinical and basic science departments throughout the campus. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be Board certified or eligible in Radiology and/or Nuclear Medicine, and 4) be available for appointment beginning 1 July 2022.
