Job Description

Post-Doctoral Fellowships: Applied Materials-NUS Advanced Materials Corporate Laboratory has Research Fellow openings in the field of semiconductor materials design and processing. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with proven track record in the fields of Materials Science, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering or equivalent to join a dynamic team of more than 30 researchers, engineers and support staff. The goal of the Corporate Lab is to discover new chemistry and engineer innovative processes highly relevant for semiconductor industry, as well as to translate research outcomes to business impact. The main research area will be in the field of physical vapor deposition (atomic layer deposition, CVD, MOCVD etc.) both in terms of precursor development and new growth methods. However, we encourage exceptional candidates from other related fields, both from industry and academia, to apply. Candidates will experience intensive, all-rounded training at the direct interface betweenindustry and academia, which will prepare them for diverse set of career options.

Job Description:

  1. Conduct literature survey on proposed chemistries/processes/approaches
  2. Carry out experiments, acquire and record data
  3. Optimize solutions for performance and scalability
  4. Perform data analysis and generate reports
  5. Present and discuss with local and overseas project team on technical progress and future plans
  6. Resources planning and technical procurement
  7. Publish research articles and file patents

Qualifications

  1. A PhD degree in a relevant area (Materials Science/Chemistry/Electrical Engineering or equivalent)
  2. Must be a SC/SPR
  3. Good publication track record
  4. Experience in research and development
  5. Good written and verbal communication skills
  6. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  7. Excellent computer skills including proficiency with data analysis software
