Job Description Summary

The University of Pennsylvania is looking for a full-time research coordinator. This full-time, two-year position entails project management, data management, advanced statistical analysis, and other responsibilities. This position is ideal for individuals who are planning to enter a Ph.D. program in psychological science or a related field.

Job Description

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop data collection methods and strategies for data management.
  • Lead the development of research protocols that clearly describe research objectives and procedures necessary to test hypotheses.
  • Analyze data using sophisticated statistical techniques and statistical software including R and SPSS.
  • Design, create, and revise research instruments as necessary to ensure quality data that aligns with research objectives.
  • Ensure that projects are executed successfully and completed within time frames to meet research objectives.
  • Lead multiple data collection efforts by collaborating with several outside agencies and institutions.
  • Prepare funding proposals, technical reports, and manuscripts for publication.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and one year of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. To effectively carry out these responsibilities, the research coordinator must understand advanced statistics and be able to execute statistical analysis using R (and ideally, other packages like SPSS, STATA, etc.), be able to create and administer surveys using Qualtrics, Prolific, and MTurk platforms, and must have the ability to clearly summarize this research in writing. The research coordinator must also be able to successfully coordinate multi-site research and must be able to function seamlessly in a team environment.  See angeladuckworth.com for examples of research projects.

The anticipated start date for this position is summer 2021.
