Job Description Summary

As June/Gill laboratory Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Molecular Bioinformatics Analyst, this position will report to Drs. Young and Gill. This individual will support NGS platform establishment and development, generation of NGS libraries, and quality control analyses, and writing associated Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for library preparation, and NGS data acquisition. This hire will coordinate with the NGS sequencing Core to ensure timely analyses of single cell RNA-seq libraries and retrieval of resulting data. One of the key responsibilities of this position will be implementation of NGS data analysis pipelines in the June/ Gill laboratories selecting, adapting and utilizing appropriate software while working with vendors, bioinformatics cores and other resources. The hire will interface with laboratory members to provide bioinformatics support in the analysis of sequencing data, and figure and slide generation. This position may also assist with the analysis of molecular data from other advanced instrumentation in June/Gill laboratories, such as Nanostring’s GeoMx DSP, nCounter and A5 Symphony. The duties of this position may require occasional working during weekends or University Holidays

Qualifications

Master's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. . The successful candidate must have prior experience in the following methodologies: DNA/RNA isolation, sequencing library preparation, knowledge of NGS technologies and data analysis. Prior experience with process and assay automation is required. Prior experience with human clinical trials and working in fast paced environment is preferred. Strong communication skills required. Prior experience working with equipment vendors and cores is required

This position is contingent upon funding.
