PRODUCT MANAGER, Political Science-MIT Governance Lab (MIT GOV/LAB), to develop innovative products and technologies that reduce corruption and improve government responsiveness to citizen needs in developing countries. Will create and lead a product-development program; conduct research on potential markets, users, existing products, and technologies; work with in-country partners to evaluate and prioritize product opportunities; build product specifications; assemble a team of two to three people to understand product needs and capture them in the form of user stories; define product requirements to achieve desired outcomes; define a minimum viable product (MVP) and success, examine tradeoffs, and manage risks; and work with an engineer/data scientist, field research associate, and faculty principal investigator to define execution plans for the user stories.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree (master’s or higher preferred) in computer science, engineering, business, or related field; at least four years’ experience in product design and development; experience operating in a fluid, fast-paced, start-up environment; demonstrate abilities related to roadmap ownership and development; team leadership, collaboration, conflict resolution, presentation, and negotiation skills; advanced-level knowledge of the latest user design techniques, product development specifications, and technical and data requirements for software development; data-driven, iterative approach to work; and a continuous improvement focus. Experience in civic technology and/or international development a plus.
