Full-time: 35 Hours per week

The University of the West of Scotland is a dynamic and ambitious organisation that aims to change lives, transform communities and encourage enterprise through outstanding, distinctive and progressive higher education.
Strategic Planning is a small team at the heart of the University, responsible for the development and deployment of analysis and critical thinking to inform institutional policy and performance.
We are seeking to appoint a capable, dynamic, data-focused individual to this role which will help drive performance and strategic planning at the University, following the launch of the new UWS Strategy 2020-2025.
Through a supportive approach, the role holder will work closely with schools and directorates to ensure that decision-making is informed by the wide variety of data and information available. For example, the role holder will work closely with colleagues in the team and across the University to add value to core processes such as student admissions planning, bringing analytical insight and reporting to the annual recruitment cycle.
The postholder will play a key role in the preparation for the University’s statutory returns to the Higher Education’s Statistics Agency (HESA) and will lead student-related data protection and freedom of information responses. Both of these tasks will require detailed understanding of UWS data and external regulations and will require critical thinking and astute judgement.
The Strategic Planning team are currently working remotely and we anticipate that the post-holder will predominantly work remotely until the current restrictions are lifted, thereafter the post will be based at the University’s Paisley Campus.
Informal enquiries should be directed to Marie McLachlan, Planning and Performance Manager (Strategic Planning) at marie.mclachlan@uws.ac.uk
