FINANCIAL ASSISTANT 2Office of Strategic Alliances and Technology Transfer (OSATT)-Technology Licensing Office (TLO)-Financial Department, to join the group which manages patents and licensing for MIT.  Will handle all incoming receivables for TLO.  Responsibilities will include preparing and posting manual journal entries to SAP; processing and finalizing monthly billing; sending invoices and appropriate back-up to licensees; responding to all licensee inquires; processing checks and wire payments received from licensees; processing all royalty reports; overseeing process of scanning and filing legal bills into ImageSilo; keeping track of all incoming license payments; scanning and filing all checks, wire deposits, journal vouchers, and royalty reports; resolving payment discrepancy issues with licensees with regard to underpayments or overpayments, providing service to licensees to resolve any billing problems and requesting royalty reports from licensees as needed; processing and depositing refunds from law firms; processing adjustments for monthly invoices; acting as a liaison to the MIT Cashier’s Office, researching and providing information about payments; and participating in special projects as needed.  The position involves interacting with TLO staff and the MIT community at large. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years’ financial experience; excellent judgment and communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; initiative; meticulous attention to detail and accuracy; and strong computer skills and proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.  Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate as part of a team; respond to inquiries, identify and resolve problems, and initiate solutions; multitask with a high level of productivity and despite interruptions and competing demands; and interact with a diverse group of people. 

 PREFERRED SAP experience and willingness to learn and assume additional responsibilities. Job #19231-5
