Visiting Research Associate Professor, Centre for Quantum Technologies
The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) is a research centre of excellence at the National University of Singapore doing cutting-edge theoretical and experimental science. CQT is located on the campus of the National University of Singapore and offers a friendly, international work environment. Learn more about CQT at www.quantumlah.org.
The successful candidate will manage a team of research fellows and PhD students on an ultracold gas experimental setup. The goal will be to settle an atomic interferometer, which will be used for quantum inertial sensing. The interferometer will operate on the clock transition of Strontium-88. The candidate will develop the experimental protocol to generate the interferometer, characterise its sensitivity and perform the budget error of the system. Further, some systematic phase shift of the device will be compensated using composite pulses. The candidate will again investigate on the best protocol and implement it on the experimental setup.
Applicants should have a PhD in atomic physics and at least 5 years of post-doctoral experience in atomic interferometry and composite pulse. The applicant should have a solid experience in ultracold gas and precision frequency measurements both on experimental and theoretical aspects.
Remuneration will commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Duration of Contract: up to 1 year (subject to funding availability and performance appraisal)
Interested applicants are invited to send a covering letter specifying their research interests and experience, their latest Curriculum Vitae (including complete list of publications/ presentations) and contacts of three references to firstname.lastname@example.org
We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
