  • The position may be full-time, part-time or job share, fixed-term until 31 December 2021
  • Salary range: Level C $122,456 p.a. - $140,861 p.a. pro rata plus superannuation

About the team

The Rural Clinical School of Western Australia (RCSWA) is a network of 15 rural and remote sites across the Kimberley, Pilbara, Mid-West, Goldfields, Great Southern and South West regions of Western Australia. It is a collaboration between UWA, The University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle and Curtin Medical School, operating as a unit within the UWA School of Medicine. The RCSWA is committed to providing quality teaching, research, professional development and clinical service in rural and remote settings.

About the opportunity

The successful candidate will work in an academic team providing a high level of teaching and curriculum support in Aboriginal Health as well as make substantial contributions to priorities projects and initiatives within the RCSWA program.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree and postgraduate qualification, or willingness to undertake a postgraduate qualification
  • Teaching and learning experience and expertise relevant to the School’s teaching programs and the University’s Indigenous Education Strategy
  • Track record in course development, engaging active learning techniques, and successful student evaluation (relative to opportunity)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary School, as well as lead strategic teaching and research projects
  • Knowledge of Aboriginal community organisations and networks in WA
  • Experience working with Indigenous people and ability to recruit and support Indigenous students in educational settings
  • Willingness to contribute to the full range of the RCSWA programs and activities
