About the role

The Primary Care Nurse supports a teal of medical practitioners and enhances the quality delivery of health care. The appointee will deliver acute and preventative nursing. This position supports the smooth, efficient and professional functioning of the medical practice, whilst maintaining the highest standards of service to our clients, students and staff.

Duties will include:

  • Patient triage;
  • Assist GPs with minor medical procedures;
  • Health screening, outreach services and education;
  • Diagnostic management services;
  • Prepare Care Plans in consultation with GPs;
  • Immunisations (for Authorised Nurse Immuniser appointees); and
  • Maintaining client records.

Approximate hours 21-35 per week between the hours of 8:30am and 5:00pm. Work will normally be on set roster however hours may vary for casual appointments. Up to 2 position may be appointed as part of this process.

Pay rate $49.60 to $55.20 per hour (casual), plus superannuation.

The SCU Health Clinic is located on Southern Cross University’s Lismore campus, delivering services to students, staff and the general public.

About you

We are seeking applications from Registered Nurses (Division 1) with at least three years nursing experience. You will have a flexible and client-focused approach to your work, and have a successful track record of contributing to a clinical team.

Experience within a GP clinic and Authorised Nurse Immuniser certification is highly desirable, but not essential.

We are looking for applicants seeking part-time or full-time work, or a short-term block placement.
