RESEARCH MANAGER, Economics-School Effectiveness and Inequality Initiative (SEII) (2 openings), to work closely with one or more of SEII directors Joshua Angrist, David Autor, and Parag Pathak, and collaborators across the country. This position also offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with other SEII research staff. Will support ongoing projects in coordination with the executive director, manage the research fellow program (currently eight fellows) and streamline research operations, supervise research projects, develop data management systems, and communicate with external research stakeholders.
SEII is a growing team of professionals devoted to answering major policy and societal questions related to education, the workforce, and inequality. Based in the Department of Economics at MIT, SEII consists of over eighteen academic affiliates who represent leading economic thinkers, ten full-time staff members, and six graduate researchers. The team partners directly with leading academic, government, and nonprofit institutions to address major social policy challenges.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: a master’s degree in economics or a related field (e.g., public policy, statistics, political science, computer science); at least four years of research management experience; demonstrated track record of establishing successful systems for research project management; strong oral and written communication skills; strong STATA and programming skills; and meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Seek a self-motivated and organized project manager with demonstrated research experience in economics, public policy, or a related field who can effectively represent the organization both in person and in writing.
