TECHNOLOGY LICENSING OFFICER, PHYSICAL SCIENCES AND ENGINEERING, Office of Strategic Alliances and Technology Transfer (OSATT) - Technology Licensing Office (TLO), to represent MIT in the Boston/Cambridge entrepreneurial ecosystem in the heart of Kendall Square in a position which embodies a unique overlap of technology, business, and lab. Will work with MIT’s brightest scientists and engineers to advance the development of ground-breaking technologies by fostering strategic relationships with entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and industry partners; and directly support the associate director, physical sciences with assessing commercial potential of new technologies, managing a broad intellectual property portfolio, developing and implementing strategies for the marketing and licensing of technologies to commercialization partners, and negotiating license and collaborative research agreements.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) in a physical science or engineering; at least seven years’ relevant experience involving technology development and commercialization, licensing, or business development, preferably in an academic technology transfer office; strong acumen in the chemicals or materials industries; ability to engage with a wide range of constituents including faculty, students, industry executives, entrepreneurs, attorneys, and investors; excellent negotiation, problem-solving, collaboration, and oral and written communication skills; and English language fluency. Seek a highly motivated self-starter who is adept at reading complex research and license agreements; diagnosing complex business, interpersonal, and interorganizational issues; and dealing with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
