About the role
Technology Services provides effective technology leadership, strategy, and expertise through proactive engagement with the University and its partners. Delivering purposeful and reliable technology systems in line with the expectations and requirements of the University and its customers.
The Lead ICT Engineer (Networking Specialist) will provide technical leadership and expertise in designing and implementing innovative solutions and supporting the University's information technologies systems. While maintaining the versatility to adapt to the change technology landscape, the appointee will maintain and administer:
- Wide & Local Area Networks;
- Cabling (Copper and Fibre);
- Internet access and network and application security appliances;
- PABX (VOIP);
- Call Centres service;
- CCTV, Wireless, Networking Protocols, Switching and Routing;
- Firewalls, VPN;
- Network Management systems; and
- Network designs.
Combined with the role's technical requirements, the Lead ICT Engineer engages with stakeholders, manages client communications and expectations, ensures solutions are fit-for-purpose, and system changes and security risks are managed effectively.
This position is located in the vibrant regional city of Lismore, in the Northern Rivers of NSW. Our region offers the best of Australia's natural environment, with world-class beaches and world heritage rainforests on our doorstep. Whilst some of our staff enjoy living within the urban convenience of Lismore, others commute from local villages and towns, including Lennox Head, Bangalow, Byron Bay, Nimbin, and Evans Head.
The remuneration package for this position is up to $119,857 per annum (inclusive of base salary $94,268-$102,442 per annum and 17% employer's contribution to superannuation).
To be successful in this role you will have a tertiary qualification in Information Technology and at least four years’ experience as an ICT Engineer. You will operate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team to lead the design and implementation of IT infrastructure solutions and utilise your high level of interpersonal skills to negotiate, advise and constructively engage with a range of experts and stakeholders at all levels.
You will bring to the role your experience in leading and coordinating a multi-disciplinary team in the planning, resolution of problems and development and implementation of solutions. Expert networking and systems certifications will be advantageous.
