Job Purpose

The role is focused on putting data at the heart of decisions around BPP’s customer. Utilising our data plays a key role in shaping the understanding of the customer and the marketing and recruitment journey they take within BPP. Through the manipulation and interpretation of data you will provide this key insight through a range of analysis, reporting and storytelling which drives decisions within the Marketing department. The main responsibility of this role is to develop and champion insight that drives Marketing effectiveness understanding and how this influences overall business performance. The role will be forward facing and provide key opportunities to build relationships through the use of data within marketing and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of BPP proposition, products and processes – being a reliable source of information for the business.
  • Use key insights to support BPP in optimising and improving marketing activity
  • Measure the commercial impact of the insight you provide using tools such as Attribution modelling
  • Support the development of a suite of insights through reporting, analytics and investigation that are delivered back to the marketing department to drive actionable change
  • Build key relationships within marketing and the wider business to increase the reputation of the Customer Insight Team
  • Providing key Marketing insights with actionable recommendations on which activities should be stopped, maintained or developed
  • Help put data at the heart of key conversations by building a deep and rich knowledge of the customer and the data that underpins the insight
  • Become an expert on customer journeys in order to play a key role in shaping marketing and business understanding of the customer
  • Support the manager in the development of the team both strategically and technically by sharing skills, knowledge and best practice
  • Giving feedback on processes that need developing to ensure high data quality
  • Ensure all insight created is being used effectively around the business, and that there is a mechanism of feedback to allow continuous improvement
  • Understand wider market trends and communicate significance

Candidate criteria

Essential

  • Working experience in a commercially driven marketing team
  • Experience of channel and digital marketing analytics including confident use of Google Analytics
  • Understanding of marketing and channel activity
  • Understanding of effectiveness analytics
  • Hold a numerate degree that involves a high level of Statistics or Operational Research (Or equivalent work experience)
  • Experience of data manipulation and mining in a previous role
  • Experience in building and maintaining insight reports
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Strong personal skills with the ability to present and communicate insights effectively
  • Confident in data mining and database analysis to build insight; preferably using one of the following SAS, Python or R
  • Proficient in the use of general computing packages
  • Well-developed problem-solving ability
  • Accurate, persistent with excellent attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and proactive individual with the drive to succeed
  • Committed to continuous self-development and learning

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Attribution Modelling
