Job Description

The United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a faculty position (Assistant or Associate Professor) at the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics. Qualified candidates who fit the below conditions will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at the undergraduate and graduate levels, to have demonstrated research achievements at previous institutions, and the ability to develop and sustain an internally and/or externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise, publish his/her research findings in refereed journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University.

The application package should include a cover letter, a detailed CV with a description of current/future research activities, teaching philosophy, and courses taught. English is the language of instruction and communication. Screening of applications will continue until the position is filled.

The appointee will be mainly involved in the Pharm-D program at all phases of the program, including curriculum and course planning and coordination, lectures, tutorials, seminars, practical sessions, supervising graduate students and will participate in the clinical rotations of the PharmD students. He/she may be asked to teach basic pharmacology and to help with PBL, TBL, and to prepare medical students for their final clinical examinations and residents for Arab Boards and/or MRCP equivalent. The United Arab Emirates University is situated in the city of Al-Ain. Abu Dhabi and Dubai are only an hour's drive from Al-Ain.

Minimum Qualification

Have a Pharm-D degree + ASHP accredited Residency and/or PhD degree in Clinical Pharmacy with at least two years’ experience as a clinical pharmacist 2. Be eligible for qualification as a licensed Clinical Pharmacist in UAE

Expected Skills/Rank/Experience

He or she should have at least two years’ experience in teaching pharmacotherapy and pharmacy practice A research interest in an aspect of the national priority research areas.
