Role Description

As the UK’s only exclusively postgraduate university, Cranfield’s world-class expertise, large-scale facilities and unrivalled industry partnerships is creating leaders in technology and management globally.  Our distinctive expertise is in our deep understanding of technology and management and how these work together to benefit the world.

Our people are our most valuable resource and everyone has a role to play in shaping the future of our university, developing our learners, and transforming the businesses we work with. Learn more about Cranfield and our unique impact here. Our shared, stated values help to define who we are and underpin everything we do: Ambition; Impact; Respect; and Community. Find out more here.

Cranfield School of Management (SOM) has long been recognised as one of the most established and most prestigious business schools in the UK, with over 40 years’ experience of educating business leaders. SOM is a Financial Times’ top 40 school and is proud to have triple accredited status by EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB. It is known for its excellence in leadership development, its deep-rooted relationships with organisations of all kinds, and its focus on transforming learning and research into improved management practice.

We are delighted to bring to market the opportunity for the appointment of our Head of Partnerships, Accreditation and Rankings (EMBA, MBA, and DBA). This role is expected to hold a minimum term of at least 16 months, and be involved in some high-profile, strategic projects for the coming year. These will include:

  • Full ownership of 2021/2 accreditation body annual submissions, visits (AACSB & AMBA) and interim relationship management.
  • Ownership and oversight of school rankings to The Financial Times, The Economist, QS and any new/upcoming rankings we would like to participate in.
  • Management of a team to deliver:
    • International exchange activities (where appropriate and in line with COVID-19 guidance):
      • International Business Assignment for 50-200 MBA students
      • Exchange visits with:
        • top Japanese business school
        • top South American business school.
  • Management of SOMs participation in the annual Executive MBA consortium, a consortium of 10 world-class business schools offering a short course for selected MBA students and alumni.
  • Maintenance and expansion of an international network of international partner universities, local and international corporate connections, international ambassadors and international alumni chapters with the aim of increasing student enrolment and build brand awareness for the Cranfield MBA, EMBA and DBA.

Our ideal candidate will have an understanding of the role and importance of rankings and accreditations in the Business School arena and will have the capability to lead the direction of a rankings and accreditation strategy and the ability to deliver the detailed submissions and reviews associated with a highly ranked Business School. Examples of previous work with all of our accreditation bodies (EQUIS, AMBA, and AACSB) would be highly advantageous.

Education to MBA level or equivalent experience is also highly desired.  You will also be willing to travel to events and meetings in the UK and overseas.

At Cranfield we value Diversity and Inclusion, and aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together harmoniously with dignity and respect and realise their full potential.

Our equal opportunities and diversity monitoring has shown that women and minority ethnic groups are currently underrepresented within the university and so we actively encourage applications from eligible candidates from these groups.

We actively consider flexible working options such as part-time, compressed or flexible hours and/or an element of homeworking, and commit to exploring the possibilities for each role. Find out more here.
