The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) contains a vibrant community of internationally recognised academics dedicated to teaching and passionate about addressing major research challenges in our core areas.

We offer PhD and Masters research degrees, as well as a postgraduate coursework degree titled Professional Master of Engineering (Electrical). We also contribute to the Electrical Systems major in the Bachelor of Science, the Master of Engineering (Mechatronics) and other programs within the Faculty.

About the Role

As part of our dedication to teaching, we have created this new teaching-focused position.

You will be an integral member of the Department of EEE, and additionally supported by the faculty-wide pedagogy specialist team from where innovation in teaching styles, tools and technology is driven.

As an Associate Lecturer you will work closely with subject coordinators and teaching staff, as well as with other staff to instruct across a range of subjects. Specific duties will include assisting with preparation and delivery of teaching and laboratory materials.

About You

You will hold a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or cognate discipline (or have proven experience commensurate with this level of qualification). You will be able to demonstrate prior achievement and excellence in encouraging student development and enhancing student outcomes.

You will possess excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to explain things clearly to students from different backgrounds. You will be organized and have a track record of meeting deliverables.

Your prior experience in either research or industry will mean that you are at the forefront of the discipline.

As a valued member of our team you will also be supported to independently and as a member of the team to work across key pillars of an academic career.

Although your primary responsibility will be to teaching delivery and innovation you will have the opportunity to spend up to a third of your time pursuing research activity in your chosen field.
