The Role

• Continuing, Full Time
• $68,696 to $93,037 pa (plus 17% superannuation)
• Dubbo, Orange, Port Macquarie or Wagga Wagga

In this role you will contribute to the collaborative scholarly environment of the School of Indigenous Australian Studies through engaged, dynamic teaching, and relevant and connected scholarship and research. You will be responsible for teaching a range of Indigenous-related subjects, and it will be expected that multiple teaching methods (face to face and online delivery) methods are utilised. The appointee will participate in the administration and ongoing curriculum development and progress an active research profile that aligns with both the University and Schools direction.

This position may also be offered as a Scholarly Teaching Fellow under Clause 30 of the Charles Sturt University Enterprise Agreement 2018-2021. Applicants who are employed on a casual or fixed term basis with at least 12 months of academic employment within the last three years, and who have never held an ongoing position at an Australian University are strongly encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be appointed to a teaching research work function unless employed under the Scholarly Teaching Fellow condition where a teaching focused appointment may be allocated.

To be successful you will be:

• A qualification relevant to the discipline of Indigenous Australian studies and at the level being applied for
• Commitment to or evidence of the delivery of high quality student centred learning and teaching with particular experience or capacity in online curriculum design
• Capacity to undertake or a record of research/ creative works or professional activity related to the discipline
• High level communication skills with demonstrated ability to network and build partnerships across the university and with external organisations
• Demonstrated capacity to utilise and embrace current and emerging technologies to achieve work objectives

The School of Indigenous and Australian Studies is located primarily on the Dubbo campus with staff also on Wagga Wagga, Port Macquarie and Bathurst campuses. The school develops, delivers and promotes Indigenous Australian Studies to all students studying at Charles Sturt University. The School develops research and consultancy links with local communities, institutions, services and agencies, together with national and international scholarly communities.
