The Policy, Curriculum and Leadership (PCL) Academic Group believes that a confluence of policy and practice, spearheaded and supported by sound leadership, underpins the success of our education system and the holistic development of our students. PCL AG faculty conduct research in educational policy and leadership, publish in reputable journals, and actively engage with stakeholders. Through our research and publications in policy and leadership, we aim to provide insights that may be translated into inputs for policy making and beneficial practices on the ground. We aim to contribute to the development of school leaders and teachers by providing a platform for them to discover a nexus of theory and practice.  We hope to develop educational leaders and teachers who inspire and empower others to work synergistically in the education system, both locally and internationally, and prepare them to meet emerging challenges in education with purpose and confidence.

The PCL AG intends to appoint one tenure-track Assistant Professor in Educational Leadership and Policy. This position provides the opportunity to teach undergraduate and postgraduate students, engage educational leaders from schools and pursue research in areas of educational policy and leadership.

Requirements 
Successful candidates must have:

  • A PhD or EdD in Educational Leadership from an internationally acclaimed institution at the time of appointment. (Doctorates in other relevant fields will also be considered, particularly if the developing research and teaching trajectory is relevant and is a good fit for the department.)
  • A good track record in research, including publications or a promising research and publication record for early career scholars.
  • Experience with engaging school leaders, and an ability to teach courses in educational leadership and policy. 
  • A good track record in teaching both undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and technology skills and dedication to academic teaching excellence and collegiality.
  • Familiarity with the Singapore educational system is greatly desired. 
  • Demonstrated administrative leadership is very welcome. 

Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be expected to: 

  • Build up a strong research and publication record.
  • Teach undergraduate-level courses, including supervising research projects.
  • Teach post-graduate level courses and supervise Masters and PhD and EdD dissertation work.
  • Teach for programmes in educational leadership and engage practitioner school leaders.
  • Undertake any administrative duties or committee work required as exigencies of service.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions:

• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
