Description
The University of Chicago's Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care in the Biological Sciences Division has open positions for scientists. Rank, track, and tenure status will be dependent on qualifications. Both basic and clinician scientist applicants pursuing research that complements existing strengths within our research community on topics such as, but not limited to, the mechanisms underlying pain, anesthetic drug action, addiction, and cognition are encouraged to apply. With this recruitment, we will build upon our department’s strong history of important contributions to basic, translational, and clinical research. Our goal is to become one of the leading academic anesthesiology departments in the nation. We pride ourselves on career development and provide resources and mentoring support to ensure the success of our faculty members. Ample laboratory space and resources, along with highly competitive recruitment packages are available for successful candidates. Collaborative and core facility support are available through the Grossman Institute for Neuroscience, Quantitative Biology and Human Behavior. Support for translational projects is available from the Institute of Translational Medicine, which is funded by an NIH Clinical and Translational Sciences Award and related areas.
