Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Geriatrics & Palliative Medicine, is searching for an assistant professor to join our Palliative Medicine Program. The appointee will have a mix of outpatient and inpatient clinical responsibilities, including embedded palliative medicine clinics in Oncology at our main campus, and at other Chicagoland locations.  They will also participate in leading Interdisciplinary Team Meetings with our local affiliate, Vitas Hospice, and perform home hospice visits. Other duties will include the supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. We also welcome applicants with additional training in Geriatrics. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) will be dependent upon qualifications. 

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have an medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board Certified or Eligible in Hospice & Palliative Medicine.
