SENIOR INDIVIDUAL GIVING OFFICERChemistry, to represent the department for the purpose of resource development.  Will create, develop, and execute a comprehensive strategic plan with the intention of meeting and exceeding specific revenue goals; identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective donors and maintain relationships with current ones; and develop outreach plans for alumni and for foundation projects. Responsibilities include identifying and evaluating prospective donors/corporate partners/foundations; creating cultivation and stewardship plans; planning/coordinating cultivation and stewardship events; preparing briefing materials for the department head, associate department head, and faculty; coordinating prospective donor and stewardship visits to the department; developing development-related marketing and communications materials; identifying and meeting with prospective donors and reporting out on content; working with the Planned Giving (PG) Office to identify and meet prospective PG donors; providing insightful departmental information to Resource Development for the purposes of identification, cultivation, solicitation, or stewardship of existing and prospective Course 5 donors; overseeing all stewardship, including donor contact after receipt of contributions; developing fund-raising reports/statistics/PowerPoint slides as needed; working with Alumni Association on appeal letters/emails; managing and stewarding all living donors of endowed funds; maintaining regular communications with Course 5 alumni; writing and developing departmental brochures on faculty research and department initiatives; and other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED bachelor’s degree; at least three years’ development experience and success cultivating and soliciting major gifts; excellent interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills; high-level proficiency with database management systems and Microsoft Office; and ability to multitask, work independently and as a team member, and generate trust with staff/faculty/alumni/ae/external constituencies.
