The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Emergency Medicine, is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank. The appointees will join a well-established Emergency Medicine program, and develop an academic niche that builds upon our faculty expertise in basic and translational research, health equity and bioethics research, geriatric emergency care, global emergency medicine, medical education, prehospital medicine, aero-medical transport, and ultrasound. The University of Chicago Medicine is a Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, a receiving hospital for STEMI, a Comprehensive Stroke Center, a Burn Center and a Chicago South EMS regional resource hospital. The Adult ED has an annual volume of 75,000. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be board certified or eligible in Emergency Medicine.
