SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST, Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF)-Budget and Financial Analysis (B&FA), to provide stewardship of MIT’s financial resources through clear, consistent, and effective communication with senior leadership, including support of the Executive Committee and MIT’s academic, research, and administrative units. Will provide financial leadership through the training, development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of budget performance for units in an assigned portfolio; prepare management reporting packages; conduct regular and ad-hoc financial analyses; prepare PowerPoint presentations and financial outlooks and forecasts; assist in resolving budget and financial issues; evaluate and report on key performance metrics; build relationships with constituents across VPF/MIT; lead small teams on special projects; and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in finance or related field; at least six years’ progressive experience in a financial analyst (or similar) position in a complex organization, preparing narrative analyses and financial reports using statistical, cost, and financial data; professional experience in corporate finance, financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting; experience managing complex business processes; self-motivation; ability to accomplish results with minimal supervision; excellent analytical, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills; experience with data modeling, spreadsheets, and databases; keen attention to detail; ability to understand complex matters and effectively communicate salient points to senior leadership and understand how decisions made by senior officers affect MIT’s financial/budget position; effective judgment with sensitive matters; willingness to work cross-functionally; desire to evaluate processes and implement enhancements; advanced-level experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; and strong data compilation/analysis skills.
PREFERRED: MBA; experience preparing and managing profit and loss; experience with SAP, BrioQuery, SQL, Cognos, and Access; and higher education experience. Job #19177-10
