The Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery within the Department of Surgery is seeking an exceptional, highly motivated and team oriented full-time Basic Life Science Research Scientist, who under the direction of the Principal Investigator will conduct translational research in Stem Cell Biology. 

The major responsibilities for this position are to independently craft and perform experiments to expedite the investigation of strategies for effective preconditioning of irradiated mice to study effects of radiation therapy on hypovascularity and fat graft retention. These studies will lead to the improvement of our delivery technology to reach a pre-submission meeting with the FDA under the direction of the Principal Investigator. The candidate would be also responsible for supervising and mentoring/training junior scientists and establishing collaboration.

The position requires a highly self-motivated, accomplished individual with an outstanding track-record of innovation and success in both graduate school and postdoctoral research with a strong publication record.

  • Ph.D. in Stem Cell Biology and/or M.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree.
  • At least 5 years of postdoctoral experience.
  • Substantive record of publication.
