Research Fellow, Materials Science And Engineering
Gradecak Lab at the Materials Science and Engineering at NUS is seeking qualified candidates for multiple Research Fellow openings in the field of electron microscopy. The focus of the lab is on development of novel nanostructured materials and we are looking for outstanding candidates with strong interest in materials science with demonstrated experience in methods development and/or applications of (scanning) transmission electron microscopy. Operational knowledge of the spectroscopic methods, including EELS, EDS or CL is a plus. Opportunities for teaching and outreach activities are also available, commensurate with the interest and career goals of the candidates. The successful candidate will join a highly interactive and interdisciplinary group, with an excellent opportunity to participate in a dynamic research environment at NUS. In addition to an existing ASCOR-corrected JEOL JEM-ARM200F scanning transmission electron microscope, NUS houses several other electron microscopes, comprehensive sample preparation suite, and is currently in the process of microscopy-centric expansion. Candidates will experience intensive, all-rounded training and mentoring at the interface between industry and academia, which will prepare them for diverse set of career options.
