Job Summary

Fabrication/trades support staff will assist with the assembly of the OVRO Long Wave Array antennas.

Job Duties

• Assemble antenna reflectors from kit of parts
• Move reflectors to designated staging areas
• Assist with assembly of antenna mounts
• Assist with mounting of antenna reflectors on mounts
• Assist with placement of antennas on Tee
• Clear out existing cables and fibers from vaults and conduits
• Pull new cables and fibers through conduits
• Lay fiber and conduit in trenches
• Assist with refilling trenches

Basic Qualifications

Candidates must have:

• A valid California driver’s license
• The ability to follow detailed instructions
• The ability to lift heavy objects (70 lb)
• A willingness to work in a workshop and outdoors
