VETERINARY TECHNICIAN, Division of Comparative Medicine (DCM), to provide clinical veterinary support and technical expertise for transgenic animals. Will collect specimens for sentinel testing; provide colony management services such as ear tagging, weaning, and skin biopsy; provide technical assistance and post-operative nursing support; and assist with anesthesia and surgical preparation. Training will be provided. The majority of work is done with mice.
REQUIRED: a high school diploma or its equivalent; self-motivation; strong time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office; and laboratory animal handling experience. PREFERRED: undergraduate degree in animal science, biology, or related field; experience with anesthesia administration and pre- and post-operative animal care; and AALAS certification. Job #19152-5
