Assistant Professor in Chemical Engineering

Young and research-intensive, Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) is ranked 13th globally and 1st among the world’s best young universities.  NTU is also placed 8th globally for Engineering and Technology.

NTU's School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering (SCBE) currently has over 35 faculty members and more than 1,200 students and is rapidly expanding its range of educational and research activities. Its faculty has led major university-wide strategic research thrusts in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology and Synthetic Biology, Translational Healthcare and Biomedical Technology and Food Science and Technology.

The School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering (SCBE) invites applicants to apply for tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. 

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, or a related field by the beginning of the appointment period. Candidates with post-doctoral training would be preferred.

The School is particularly interested in candidates with research interest in the areas of Biological Catalysis, Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing, Continuous Manufacturing and Digital Factory for Pharmaceuticals, and Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

The candidate should have a demonstrated excellence in original research, with good publication records and the ability to teach core bioengineering courses. Entrepreneurial qualities are also sought after.

Exceptional candidates in other fields of chemical engineering will also be considered.

Emoluments
The commencing salary will depend on the candidate's qualifications, experience and the level of appointment offered.
