Job Description Summary
The Ren lab is searching for a new Research Specialist to assist with day to day experiments in their molecular biology lab.
Job Description
This position will help perform protein chemistry and cellular biology experiments under the supervision of the PI or senior lab members. The Research Specialist will carry out routine tasks such as preparation of media and reagents, perform DNA and protein extractions, place orders for supplies, and help maintain inventory. An individual in this position will also be expected to gather data from experiments, complete data entry and analyze data in collaboration with Principal Investigators and postdoctoral researchers - with the intent of presenting research results in laboratory meetings.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 0-1 year of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with lab animals is a plus, but not required. High level of organization and efficiency, ability to pay close attention to detail. Ability to work independently, train others, and assemble research into reports for presentation.
