RESEARCH ASSOCIATE, Biological Engineering-Fraenkel Lab, to participate in studies examining the role of immune cells in diseases of the central nervous system, including neurodegenerative disorders and cancers. The Fraenkel lab is using omic measurements and computational modeling to reveal the molecular mechanisms behind neurodegenerative diseases and brain tumors to identify novel potential therapeutic strategies and to test these strategies in vitro and in vivo. Will generate and analyze cell imaging data relevant to these studies. The work will involve the design and execution of imaging experiments using methods such as CycIF and CODEX and basic computational processing. It will require close teamwork with the lab in-house computational scientists and with external collaborators.
REQUIRED: master’s degree in biological or biomedical engineering with a background in molecular neuroscience; at least three years of relevant research experience; proven experience with histological assays such as immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence in tissue and cell culture; strong organizational, communication, and planning skills; and ability to work in coordination and collaboration with multiple research groups.
PREFERRED: experience with CycIF and/or CODEX and experience performing collaborative work with data scientists and systems biologists. Job #19178
