HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATORMechanical Engineering (MechE), to advise faculty and staff on human resources (HR) matters, working closely with the administrative officer, as part of the MechE HR team. Will administer human resources activities, including recruitment, orientation, performance management and development, employee relations, compensation, and diversity; collaborate on the development of HR policies, procedures, and activities and be responsible for administering them; ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations; provide input into strategic planning for the department; partner with central HR and hiring managers on the hiring process; act as HR point person for diversity and equity matters; partner with managers to create and/or revise position descriptions; make recommendations on job evaluations and/or pay decisions; actively identify the potential need for market adjustments and issues of internal equity; manage the performance management and annual salary review process; and supervise and direct the work of an HR representative. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; at least four years’ HR generalist experience; in-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws and current human resources’ principles, practices, and trends; ability to interpret and apply HR policies/regulations/employment laws; sound judgment and discretion with highly sensitive confidential information; experience with diversity initiatives; strong employee relations, customer service, organizational, analytical, active listening, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills; strong computer skills and advanced-level knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook; and familiarity with compensation guidelines and salary ranges/bands.
