Job Description Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Accounting Operations in SRFS, this position is responsible for the oversight, accounting and reporting for the Federal and University loan funds to ensure accurate records and compliance with all regulatory agencies and requirements. The position will also complete a comprehensive monthly analysis and quarterly reporting for University Federal and Institutional Loan portfolios as well as outstanding tuition receivable accounts. The position is responsible for maintaining integrity of reserve levels in accordance with GAAP regulations, will prepare monthly journal entries and calculate drawdown of Federal funds. The position will also prepare business control metrics to monitor asset and liability accounts under SRFS responsibility. Working with external auditors annually, this position will review reconciliation and reporting of SRFS programs.
Job Description
Comprehensive analysis of tuition receivable collectability, revenue projection, institutional loan recovery, repayment and default trends. Provide analysis and reports to Executive Management. Ensures compliance with HRSA, Dept. of Ed, FAS 5 accounting for contingent liabilities using complex accounting & federally mandated awarding & disbursement rules. Prepares monthly, quarterly, annual reconciliations & reports, implements & monitors FAS 5 reporting, implements Federal reporting requirements, prepares HRSA & Dept. of Ed annual external reports. Prepares monthly journal entries & reconciliation on 3rd party vendor accounting for loan receivable, revenue recognition, quarterly control metrics, calculates drawdown of Federal funds. Implements new processes required by regulatory changes, assists schools with business controls, prepares business control metrics for asset & liability accounts, provides analysis to Comptroller
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 3-5+ years of experience (5+ years of experience preferred), or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required.
