012894 Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Creative and Critical Practice, UCD School of English, Drama and Film, Temporary 4 Year Fixed Term

Applications are invited for a four-year fixed-term appointment as Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Creative and Critical Practice in the School of English, Drama and Film. The successful candidate will work closely with Associate Professor P.J. Mathews and the Creative Futures Academy (UCD, IADT, NCAD) to develop curricular and pedagogic innovations in the interface between creative and critical practice. The post is funded by the HEA Human Capital Initiative (2020-2025), and is intended to augment the delivery of creative education at all stages (including mid-career professional development) in collaboration with sectoral and industry partners.

Applicants must be established creative practitioners (writing, drama, film) with a proven track record of achievement in the creative industries. Essential to the role is the ability to teach courses in both creative and critical practices (literature/drama/film) at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in this rapidly developing area in the School. The post will contribute potentially to several areas of the curriculum in the School, including Creative Writing, Drama Studies, English, and Film Studies, as well as engaging in college, university, and cross-institutional initiatives as part of the Creative Futures Academy. Creative practice at UCD is characterised by its strong links to the creative sector / creative industries in Dublin, Ireland and beyond. The successful candidate would be expected to augment and develop these partnerships.

Salary: €54,848 - €86,235 per annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
