PEMBROKE COLLEGE · CAMBRIDGE
Applications are invited for the post of Senior Tutor for Pembroke College, Cambridge, from 1st September 2021.
This is a substantial role with extensive responsibilities. We are seeking a Senior Tutor who will be one of the most senior Officers of the College, and who will wish to make a significant and lasting contribution to the academic, educational and collegiate life of Pembroke. The Senior Tutor will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning and practical operation of the College’s academic activities. Working closely with the Directors of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Admissions, they will have overall responsibility for admissions; they will lead the Tutorial team; and they will be responsible for the pastoral care, financial and wellbeing support for students. They will also wish to have an active involvement in the broader life of the College.
We envisage the post being held by someone who will devote up to 100% of their time to the role. We seek someone with a strong academic background. We anticipate that many applicants will wish to see it as a full-time position, though we will also welcome applications from those who might wish to retain a portion of their time (up to 25%) for continued research or teaching activity. Remuneration will be discussed as appropriate with the successful applicant, but will be at a point on the Readership or Professorial scale. The successful candidate will be elected a Fellow, and will enjoy the rights and responsibilities of a Fellowship; amongst these, the College has a generous housing scheme to help with accommodation.
Further particulars can be obtained by contacting the Master’s PA: firstname.lastname@example.org. The closing date for applications will be noon on 25th January 2021.
Pembroke is an equal opportunity employer.
