University College Dublin invites applications for 3 permanent/5 year posts as Lecturer/ Assistant Professor in Finance in the Banking & Finance Subject Area of the UCD College of Business.

The successful applicant's will be offered a permanent post or a 5-year temporary contract depending on his/her abilities and experience as assessed by the Interview Board.

UCD College of Business consists of the UCD Lochlann Quinn School of Business ('the Quinn School') focused on undergraduate education, the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business ('the Smurfit School'), the UCD Centre for Distance Learning ('CDL') and UCD Smurfit Executive Development ('Executive Development'). The Quinn School and CDL are located on the main campus at Belfield while the Smurfit School and Executive Development are located at Blackrock about five kilometres away. Academic staff teach typically teach across all schools

The successful candidate will actively participate in the following areas and will have a track record in:

Research: The Subject Group places strong emphasis on research leading to publication in international, peer-reviewed academic journals and in leading debate in the field of Finance in the academic and public space.
Members of faculty are widely published in journals such as Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Econometrics, European Journal of Operational Research, Management Science and Journal of Corporate Finance. The School has an extensive range of data resources, which currently include; CRSP, Compustat, Optionmetrics, Nasdaq, London stock Exchange, Bankscope, BarclayHedge, HFR, NYSE Euronext Short Interest and TAQ, GFI, CRB, Bloomberg, DataStream and Thomson Reuters.
Teaching and Learning: The Subject Area makes a significant contribution to the School's undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including in particular the BSc in Economics and Finance, MSc in Finance, MSc in Quantitative Finance and the recently launched MSc in Aviation Finance.

Administration: assume administrative and managerial duties as appropriate to the role

Salary Scale: €54,848 - €86,235 per annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
