ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, MIT SLOAN REGIONAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP ACCELERATION, Sloan School of Management-Office of Global Programs, to manage and execute conferences and workshops, including registration, hotel blocks, food/beverage planning, agenda, budget, meeting space allocation, special events, transportation, etc. Will develop an events master plan, balancing the requirements of numerous programs/events in various stages of planning; liaise with faculty and staff to design program agendas, activities, and content; deliver a portfolio of programs/events including workshops, conferences, and additional ancillary events; determine program and event requirements, including internal and external resources; provide direction and oversee all aspects of events and programs, including registration, dinners, talks, plenaries, breakouts, and transportation; arrange hotel blocks, flights, and car service when necessary; manage learning management platform; onboard and manage all participants; design and support content development for workshops, lectures, and digital classes for non-core program events; oversee schedule development for workshops; and work with communications staff to ensure branding is consistent across all material/forms.

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least three years’ administrative, operations, and/or project/program management experience; strong organizational, interpersonal, time-management, and verbal and written communications skills; and ability to work independently and as a member of a team and to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization. Seek someone who can demonstrate flexibility and adaptability and is able to deal with last minute changes and deadline in a fast-paced environment.
PREFERRED: at least three years’ experience in B2B event planning within a higher education or corporate environment, proven track record of successful conference/event management, experience managing large conferences and executive attendees, innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem experience, international event experience, familiarity with MIT, and social media and design skills.
This is a one year term position.
